Screenwriting Services

“In my 25 years of working with screenwriters, Matthew is one of the best. He’s intelligent, driven, easy to work with, and FAST. He helped me make the script that I saw in my original vision, taking my ideas, running with them, and making them fly off the page. I foresee a long career for him, and I plan to have him back as a screenwriter on future projects again and again.” -P.J. Pettiette, CEO and Producer at Just Entertainment.

The best movie scripts, newsletters, blog posts, commercials, explainer videos, and proposals all have one thing in common – they tell a story. They take the audience on a journey, showing them the world as it is and imaging the world as it could be. A practiced storyteller takes the audience exactly where they intend to and turns those strangers in the crowd from audience members into customers, followers, and fans.

But unfortunately, many people don’t have the training and practice to effectively tell stories. Instead of a clean narrative that an audience member can easily follow, novices often crowd their stories with unnecessary details, a tangled through line, or impenetrable industry jargon. They lack the narrative tools necessary to build a good story.

Therefore, they need someone like me.

I specialize in taking raw ideas and crafting a narrative around them. Whether it’s just the core idea of a screenplay, a marketing direction for a commercial, a rough draft of a proposal, or any other kind of writing that requires appealing to an audience, I can help take those ideas and mold them into a clean narrative structure.

I have experience with writing screenplays, television bibles, commercials, explainer videos, and Patreon/Kickstarter videos. I’m accustomed to working collaboratively with my clients, making sure to stay true to their original vision.

Workflow

My workflow for the average writing project generally includes:

  • A review of any material you’ve already written.
  • An initial phone/Skype meeting to discuss your project and brainstorm ideas.
  • (For large projects) I write and present your narrative in a short outline format.
  • I take our initial brainstormed ideas and craft them into the first full draft of the narrative.
  • I get feedback from you and we revise as necessary.
